Riesensaal, Medieval exhibition hall in Dresden Castle, Germany
The Riesensaal extends 57 meters in length and 13 meters in width, displaying over 350 historical armaments and military artifacts from the 15th to 17th centuries.
Following August the Strong's death in 1733, the hall underwent division into smaller rooms, including a chapel, leading to its disappearance for 280 years until 2013.
The exhibition space contains numerous tournament weapons, reflecting the evolution of medieval competitions from military training to aristocratic social events.
Visitors can access the Riesensaal daily except Tuesdays from 10:00 to 18:00, with regular admission at 14 euros and free entry for individuals under 17.
The hall's name originates from painted figures of giants by the Tola brothers, which decorated the walls and window embrasures during the Renaissance period.
