This venue was constructed in 1934 as a gathering location and functioned as a site for public assemblies during the 1930s and 1940s. The structure remained after the war and now stands as a record of architectural practices from that historical period.

The site takes its name from the nearby village of Herchen, and visitors today use it as a place for walking and reflection. The stone structure shows how architectural design from that era expressed collective ideals through monumental forms.

The site sits on a hillside and is reachable on foot from Herchen In der Au station, requiring approximately 20 minutes of walking from the platform. Entry is free and the grounds remain accessible throughout the year, though pathways may become slippery during wet weather.

The rotunda displays engraved text that expresses a specific message from that period and today invites visitors to pause and reflect. This inscription stands as a direct window into the thinking of a historical era and often goes unnoticed by visitors until they look closely at the stone.
