Reipoltskirchen Castle, Water castle in Reipoltskirchen, Germany
The castle stands on an artificial hill at 208 meters above sea level, featuring a 17-meter-high tower and circular protective walls along the Odenbach river.
Built between 1100 and 1200, the first recorded nobleman associated with the castle was Meffried of Reipoltskirchen, documented in historical records from 1198.
The castle complex now serves as a cultural center with an art school, registry office, and restaurant, preserving medieval architectural elements for public appreciation.
Visitors can access the castle grounds throughout the year and climb the bergfried tower for panoramic views of the North Palatine Uplands region.
The European Sculpture Trail of Peace passes through the castle grounds, presenting contemporary art installations within the medieval defensive structure.
