Reipoltskirchen Castle

Reipoltskirchen Castle sits on an artificial hill overlooking the Odenbach river, with a distinctive tower rising about 17 meters above the defensive walls. The fortress features circular protective walls that define its medieval layout, creating a compact structure visible from the surrounding countryside.

Built between 1100 and 1200, the fortress was established during the period of medieval fortification building in the region. It is first documented through Meffried of Reipoltskirchen in records from 1198, confirming its role as an early ruling seat.
