Arabella Hochhaus, Office and hotel tower in Arabellapark, Munich, Germany
The Arabella Hochhaus is an office and hotel tower with 23 floors in Arabellapark that rises about 75 m high and is defined by its white concrete frame with a distinctive grid pattern. The building combines under one roof 467 hotel rooms, 550 rental apartments, 100 offices, medical practices, and two medical clinics.
Construction of the Arabella Hochhaus began in 1966 and was completed in 1969, ready in time for the 1972 Olympic Games preparations. The building emerged as part of Munich's urban development ahead of this international event.
The recording studios in the basement shaped albums by The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and Deep Purple during the 1970s. This facility became an important destination for international artists working in Munich.
Access to the building is straightforward since it stands centrally in Arabellapark and serves as an easy reference point for orientation. The different functions are clearly marked, making it simple to navigate inside.
The 22nd and 23rd floors house a spa area with a swimming pool that was among the highest such facilities in the city when it opened. This amenity offered unusual luxury at that altitude when the building was new.
