Hypo-Haus, Administrative skyscraper in Bogenhausen, Munich, Germany

The Hypo-Haus is an administrative skyscraper in Bogenhausen with a height of 113.7 meters, 27 floors above ground, and a modern structure combining concrete and aluminum. The building contains eight elevators to serve its occupants across the various levels.

Construction of this banking headquarters began in 1975 and officially opened on November 16, 1981, marking a significant moment for HypoVereinsbank. Its completion in the early 1980s made the building a symbol of Munich's economic expansion during that decade.

The building appears on the album cover of Electric Light Orchestra's 'Time', which helped establish it as an iconic representation of Munich's modern skyline in popular culture. This appearance in music history gives the structure a cultural presence beyond its role as a workplace.

The location near Richard-Strauss-Straße underground station on the U4 line provides convenient access by public transport for those visiting the area. Keep in mind that this is an administrative building where interior spaces are not open to the public, so viewing is best from outside.

The building features five floors suspended from a central support frame, an unusual structural solution that required extensive engineering calculations. The technical documentation for this design approach reached approximately 100,000 pages.
