Billund

Billund spreads across flat terrain with sandy soil, located 13 kilometers east of Grindsted at an elevation of 58 meters above sea level.

First recorded as Byllundt in 1454, the settlement began with eight farms and transformed after Ole Kirk Christiansen established a woodworking business in 1916.

The Skulpturpark, established in 1991, presents outdoor art installations throughout the town, adding artistic elements to the urban landscape.

Billund Airport, Denmark's second largest, connects the town to international destinations while serving over two million passengers annually.

The town transformed from 249 residents in 1930 to over 7,000 today through the development of plastic brick manufacturing and related attractions.
