Polar X-plorer

Polar X-plorer is a steel roller coaster at Legoland Billund with a track that spans several hundred meters and reaches speeds around 40 miles per hour. The route moves through outdoor sections and an enclosed indoor area featuring arctic scenes.

The coaster opened in 2012 and was the first attraction at Legoland Billund to feature a vertical drop section. This innovation set it apart from earlier rides in the park.

The ride presents an arctic world built with LEGO figures and ice sculptures that transport you into a frozen landscape. As you move through the course, you witness how the setting shifts from snowy terrain to dramatic ice formations.

Two trains operate at the same time with seats for two per row to keep wait times short. The ride has both bright outdoor and dark indoor sections, so your eyes need a moment to adjust when moving between them.

In the indoor section, passengers encounter LEGO figures working in ice walls before experiencing a sudden drop where the floor appears to collapse. This surprise moment creates a striking contrast between the quiet mining scene and the intense plunge.
