Lersøparken, Public park in Bispebjerg, Denmark.
Lersøparken is a green space in Bispebjerg that stretches along Tagensvej and serves different purposes for recreation and sports. Football fields occupy the northern area, while the central section features a renovated playground set among trees and open grass.
The site once held a natural lake called Lersøen that stretched from Lyngbyvej to the northern edge of Nørrebrogade before transforming into marshland. This transformation eventually led to the creation of the public park we see today.
The sculpture 'Girl Fixing Her Hair' by Povl Søndergaard from 1931 stands in the park, capturing a young woman in a daily moment. This artwork shapes how visitors experience the space during their walks through the grounds.
Access to the park is easy via the pathways that run along Tagensvej and connect different areas. Keep in mind that the northern section is actively used for football matches, so it can be busier during games.
The Lersøstien is a greenway that connects the park to neighboring allotment gardens established between 1909 and 1920. These gardens offer visitors a glimpse into a different form of green space beyond the park boundaries.
