West Tower, Liverpool, Mixed-use skyscraper in Liverpool, United Kingdom
West Tower is a 40-story glass and steel skyscraper rising 140 meters (459 feet) above Liverpool. The building combines residential apartments with a panoramic restaurant located on the 34th floor.
Construction took place between 2005 and 2007 as part of Liverpool's renewal in the new century. The project represented a turning point in the city's urban development following earlier decades of change.
The tower shapes the skyline as a mixed-use building housing residents and a dining venue. Its large windows frame views across the city, and the space is regularly used by people living and working within it.
High-speed elevators move through the building and reach the restaurant with a view of the surrounding area. The building is well-organized for visitors, and evening hours offer the best experience for seeing the city lights.
It stands as the tallest structure outside Greater London and Greater Manchester in the region. The 127 fully glazed apartments create an unusual quality where residents experience the city from above.
