Auchlyne

Auchlyne is a mansion house on the northern side of Glen Dochart, surrounded by the Breadalbane Hills and two mountain streams. The property now operates as a bed and breakfast, set within landscaped grounds that define the character of the estate.

The Third Earl of Breadalbane built this mansion in 1760 with separate servants' quarters and an enclosed garden as part of estate development. The structure represents the architectural standards of Georgian-era Highland properties.

The Indian prince Maharajah Duleep Singh, known locally as The Black Prince, lived at the property in the late 1800s during his time in Scotland. His residence marked an extraordinary moment of cross-cultural presence in the remote Highland valley.
