Artsdepot, Arts centre in North Finchley, United Kingdom.
artsdepot is an arts centre in North Finchley, in the London Borough of Barnet, with two theatre spaces: the Pentland Theatre and a smaller Studio Theatre. The building also has gallery areas that host exhibitions alongside the regular programme of performances.
The centre opened in October 2004 on the site of the former Gaumont cinema, which had closed in 1980 and was later demolished. A new arts building was developed there to bring a dedicated cultural space back to North Finchley.
The name artsdepot reflects the idea of a place where art is stored, created, and distributed to the community. Throughout the year, visitors can attend performances, browse gallery exhibitions, and take part in creative workshops that draw people from across North London.
The venue is in North Finchley and is easy to reach by public transport from central London. It is worth booking tickets for shows and exhibitions in advance, as popular events can sell out quickly.
artsdepot shares its building with the London Studio Centre, an undergraduate college for performing arts, which gives the space an energy that goes beyond a typical arts venue. The building also contains the Creation Space, a studio area that supports artist residencies and experimental projects not usually part of a public programme.
