Cusworth Hall and Park, Georgian house museum in Cusworth, England.
Cusworth Hall is an 18th-century country house in Sprotbrough and Cusworth, set within a park that includes formal gardens, lakes, and open grounds. The building is Grade I listed and now serves as a local authority museum, with large reception rooms, a chapel, and historic kitchen spaces open to visitors.
A wealthy merchant commissioned the estate in the 1740s as a family seat, and the house passed through several hands over the following centuries. It was eventually taken over by the local authority, which turned it into a museum open to the public.
The chapel inside the house has a painted ceiling that draws the eye as soon as you enter the room. The displays across the museum show how servants and family members each moved through their daily routines in different parts of the house.
The rooms inside the house connect naturally, so visitors can move through them without needing a map or guide. Walking the grounds and gardens as well as seeing the interior takes a good part of the day.
One of the outbuildings on the estate now houses a small working brewery, which is unusual for a historic house site. Visitors can try the beer on site without leaving the grounds.
