Cusworth Hall Museum & Park

Cusworth Hall is an 18th-century country house that now houses a social history museum with multiple exhibition rooms showcasing local community collections spanning centuries. The Grade I listed building sits within a park setting that complements its role as a heritage institution.

William Wrightson commissioned the construction of Cusworth Hall between 1740 and 1744 as a residence for his estate. The building was later converted into a museum to preserve and present the region's past to visitors.

Visitors can see how people in Doncaster lived from the 18th century onwards through displays of household items, work tools, and personal objects from different social groups. The collections reveal daily habits and the way communities organized their lives.

The site features multiple exhibition rooms you can explore in about one to two hours, with park paths available for a walk around the grounds. Admission is free, and the converted stable building provides a tea room for refreshments.

The original brewhouse still contains a working microbrewery that continues centuries-old brewing methods once practiced in the household. Visitors can actually watch how beer is made using traditional techniques.
