The Flume, Water ride at Alton Towers, England
The Flume was a log flume water ride at Alton Towers that took passengers through wooded terrain with several drops and water splashes. The track curved through the park, creating a wet and exciting journey for riders.
The ride opened in 1981 as White Water Flume and was initially the world's longest log flume attraction. It remained popular for more than three decades before closing in 2015.
The 2004 Imperial Leather sponsorship brought a bathroom theme to the ride, complete with rubber duck statues and shower spray effects throughout the course.
Access required a minimum height, meaning younger children were not able to ride. Most visitors should have been prepared to get wet, as the journey involved significant water splashing.
For many years, visitors carried memories of the thrill, but the closure marked the end of an era. The legacy of this attraction lives on through those who experienced the adventure.
