Beastie, Steel family roller coaster in Alton Towers, England
Beastie was a steel family roller coaster at Alton Towers manufactured by Pinfari, featuring a compact layout with multiple turns throughout its course. The ride completed two full circuits per cycle and included a tunnel section in its design.
The coaster operated from 1983 to 2011, initially opening as Mini-Dragon in Festival Park within the park grounds. It was relocated to different themed areas where it operated under several different names throughout its lifespan.
This entry-level roller coaster introduced young visitors to the thrill rides experience, marking their first steps into more advanced attractions.
The coaster reached speeds of 27 kilometers per hour along its 133-meter track and was designed as an entry-level ride for younger guests. It accommodated around 200 passengers per hour, making it accessible for families with children.
The ride stood at just 4 meters tall, making it one of the more compact attractions in the park, and featured head chopper effects along its route. Its maximum track angle of 36 degrees created gentle tilts suitable for first-time riders.
