Nemesis: Sub-Terra, Indoor drop tower attraction in Alton Towers, United Kingdom

Nemesis: Sub-Terra is an underground drop tower ride at Alton Towers where visitors plunge down through dark caverns filled with special effects and storytelling elements. The experience combines descent sequences with immersive scenery and themed design throughout the journey.

The ride opened in 2012 and underwent several overhauls before reopening in 2023 with updated technology and effects. The renovations refreshed its mechanical systems and immersive elements throughout the experience.

The military-themed facility employs staff in combat uniforms who guide visitors through a narrative about the discovery of alien eggs beneath the earth.

Riders must meet a minimum height requirement of 140 centimeters (55 inches) to board the ride. The attraction can accommodate hundreds of visitors per hour during normal operating times.

The facility incorporates a deceptive elevator sequence and specialized corridors that simulate an emergency evacuation after encountering the hatched creature.
