Swingate Mill, Guston, Tower mill and Grade II listed building in Guston, England.
The brick tower mill rises four stories tall with a Kentish-style cap and contained three pairs of underdrift millstones powered by cast iron machinery.
Built in 1849, Swingate Mill operated until 1943 when its sails sustained damage from enemy fire during World War II operations in the region.
The mill represents the agricultural processing methods of Kent, with multiple generations of millers, including John Mummery who operated it from 1849 to 1907.
The structure has been converted into residential spaces featuring a circular sitting room, curved kitchen, three bedrooms, and additional living areas across multiple floors.
Components of Swingate Mill, including the cap, sails, windshaft, and brake wheel, came from an unfinished windmill originally planned for Dover.
