Siva Doul, Hindu temple complex in Sivasagar district, India
The Siva Doul temple rises 104 feet tall with a base perimeter of 195 feet and features a golden dome at its highest point.
Queen Bar Raja Ambika commissioned the construction of this temple in 1734 during the reign of Ahom king Swargadeo Siva Singha in Assam.
The temple walls display detailed stone carvings depicting Hindu deities, particularly multiple representations of Shiva and goddess Durga throughout the structure.
The temple complex includes three distinct structures: the main Siva Doul, accompanied by Vishnu Doul and Devi Doul, all situated near the Sivasagar tank.
The Shiva Linga within the temple sanctum maintains an unusual reverse setting, differentiating it from traditional Hindu temple configurations.
