Haruniyeh Mausoleum

Haruniyeh Mausoleum is a square structure topped with a double-shell dome, built from brick with restrained exterior decoration. The plain walls allow attention to focus on the dome's geometric form and the interior spaces beneath.

The structure was built during the 14th century, blending Ilkhanid and Timurid architectural styles from different construction phases. The walls carry traces of this medieval Persian building tradition.

This building served as a Sufi lodge where religious scholars taught and people gathered for spiritual learning. You can still see the rooms designed for prayer and contemplation that shaped daily life here.

Visitors enter through a separate entrance with different fees for domestic and international guests. Daytime visits work best for seeing the architectural details and the dome structure clearly.

The north wall holds an inscription reading 'Life is but an hour,' a direct reference to Persian burial traditions. These words give the place a philosophical depth that visitors often miss on first visit.
