Ancient City of Tabran

The ruins of Tabran contain a six-kilometer clay wall with remnants of 106 towers and nine gates surrounding the ancient settlement north of Mashhad.

During the fifth century, Tabran functioned as the principal district within ancient Tus, alongside three other urban zones: Radakan, Noan, and Teroid.

The archaeological area includes the Haruniyeh Dome from the ninth century and a monument to Imam Mohammad Ghazali, a twelfth-century philosopher.

The site extends between the Binalud mountains in the south and the Hezar Masjid mountains in the north, with various structures spread across the terrain.

The grand mosque ruins measure 96 meters in length and 53 meters in width, representing one of the earliest Islamic structures in Khorasan Province.
