Castello Passerin d’Entrèves

Castello Passerin d'Entrèves is a castle in Châtillon featuring a rectangular layout with two towers on the western side and an eastern wing containing guest rooms and a chapel. The grounds span several hectares and include a surrounding park with different areas to explore.

The castle was built in the 13th century as a medieval fortress for the region. In the 18th century it underwent major rebuilding that transformed it into an aristocratic residence.

The chapel inside holds frescoes dating to 1502 that show religious scenes commissioned by the Challant family. These artworks reveal the personal devotion and artistic interests of the noble residents who once lived here.

The grounds are open to visitors during certain seasons, allowing you to explore the outdoor areas and gardens. It is wise to wear comfortable shoes since you will walk through different parts of the property on foot.

The property preserves one of the last historical French gardens in Aosta Valley, featuring a striking tree-lined avenue of limes and beeches. This avenue was created by Countess Paolina and stands out for the careful arrangement of its trees.
