The first documentation of Villa di Mondeggi dates to the 14th century when monks from Vallombrosa Abbey noted its existence before the Bardi family ownership.
The villa received architectural enhancements in 1862 under Count Ugolino delle Gherardesca, featuring decorations by artist Olimpio Bandinelli and designs by Angelo Foggi.
The property includes marked walking trails through its grounds, with seven designated rest areas equipped with benches and wooden tables for outdoor meals.
Since 2014, sections of the estate operate under a collective agricultural management system focused on sustainable farming practices and community involvement.
