Monte Bo di Valsesia, Mountain summit in Piedmont, Italy
Monte Bo di Valsesia is a summit in the Alpi Biellesi range standing at 2071 meters, with panoramic views across the Valsesia valley and neighboring peaks. Several hiking paths approach the peak from different starting points in the lower valleys.
The name originates from the term 'Boso' or 'Bioso', which local people in the 1800s used to refer to the Monte Rosa massif. Over time this regional reference became attached to this peak and has persisted to the present day.
A Madonna statue crowns the summit, reflecting the strong spiritual heritage found across these mountains. Visitors who make the climb often pause here to rest and take in the views, turning it into a place of quiet contemplation.
The mountain is most easily reached from the road connecting Piode with Alpe Meggiana or from Rassa, with hiking trails and biking routes available from both approaches. Starting early and carrying adequate water and snacks is advisable, as the climb is steep and shelter or supplies are sparse along the way.
The peak sits at the boundary between Piode and Rassa municipalities, positioning it as a viewpoint that captures both valleys in a single panorama. This location at middling elevation makes it more accessible than the highest peaks in the range while still delivering sweeping views across the landscape.
