Vada Shoal lighthouse is a cylindrical stone tower on the Rosignano Marittimo coast with black walls interrupted by a horizontal red band and a grey metal lantern dome on top. The structure rises 18 meters and sits on a concrete foundation surrounded by riprap for coastal protection.
The structure was built in 1868 to warn of dangerous shoals threatening ships in these waters. Major reconstruction occurred in 1959, followed by additional maintenance work in 2008.
