Torrione INA

Torrione INA is a tall building with 13 floors above ground, sitting in Piazza della Vittoria with a rectangular base. The exterior combines exposed brick with stone cladding, while two basement levels below house technical systems and storage areas.

The building was completed in 1932 under architect Marcello Piacentini's design, marking an important moment in Italy's construction history. It was the country's first modern skyscraper and among Europe's tallest reinforced concrete structures when it was built.

The tower displays terracotta reliefs on its facade that show the crafts and industries that once defined Brescia's economy. These decorative elements remain visible today and tell the story of what people in this region worked on and created.

The structure is easy to access thanks to five elevators serving the different floors. Its location on a central plaza makes it straightforward to reach and view from various angles.

The tower's design has an interesting feature: starting at the sixth floor, the building tapers significantly to create large open terraces. This shift in form separates the heavier base from the slender upper tower section that faces the main plaza.
