Miroku no sato, Amusement park in Fukuyama, Japan
Miroku no Sato is an amusement park in Fukuyama that spreads across a large site with more than 20 rides. The attractions divide into several themed areas surrounded by green spaces.
The site opened in 1989 as a family destination and offered rides and themed areas for multiple generations from the start. Over the years, additional installations were added that connect to Japanese postwar entertainment culture.
The Itsukakita no Machi zone presents a reconstruction of Japanese street scenes from the 1950s, where wooden storefronts and food stalls recall the postwar era. Families stroll among the historic facades and experience how everyday spaces looked decades ago.
The visit suits families with children of all ages, as different rides offer different difficulty levels. In winter, an evening visit is worthwhile when the lighting is switched on.
During winter months, more than one million LED lamps transform the grounds into a glowing ensemble that visitors can also see while riding the attractions. The light installation surrounds many pathways and gives the evening visit a special character.
