Yamaguchi Prefectural Government Building

The Yamaguchi Prefectural Government Building consists of four sections: main building, welfare wing, assembly wing, and police department wing.

The building opened on July 4, 1984, replacing earlier governmental structures that had become insufficient for the growing administrative needs.

The building integrates modern architectural elements with Japanese administrative traditions, featuring a natural waterfall that inspired the district name Taki.

Government departments occupy specific wings, with the main building housing the governor offices while the assembly wing contains meeting spaces.

The top floor includes an observation area that opens to the public during regular office hours, offering views across Yamaguchi city.
