新石狩大橋, Steel arch bridge in Ebetsu, Japan
The Shin-Ishikari Bridge is a steel arch bridge that crosses the Ishikari River in Ebetsu and connects traffic between both banks. The structure uses a combination of continuous composite girders and balanced trusses to handle the wide river span.
The bridge was built in 1968 as part of National Route 275 and provided an important traffic connection for the region at that time. A parallel structure was added later to expand capacity for modern traffic flow.
The bridge serves as the fourth crossing point from the Ishikari River mouth, positioned between the Ishikari Bridge upstream and the Sapporo Bridge downstream.
The bridge offers good sightlines for drivers and is designed for regular road traffic. A walkway along the side allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross safely.
The bridge structure combines continuous steel composite girders, suspension beams, and steel balanced trusses to span the wide river crossing.
