Niiya Jin'ya, Administrative headquarters in Ōzu, Japan.
The Niiya Jin'ya complex includes multiple buildings with traditional Japanese architectural elements, featuring tatami rooms and wooden sliding doors throughout the structure.
Built in 1642, this jin'ya served as the administrative center for the Niiya Domain under the Katō clan during the Edo period until 1871.
The jin'ya exemplifies the traditional governance system of feudal Japan, where local administrators managed regional affairs from specially designed headquarters.
The site is accessible through Niiya Station and stands within the grounds of Ozu Municipal Niiya Elementary School as a prefectural cultural property.
Confucian scholar Nakae Tōju contributed to the educational development of the region while stationed at this administrative center.
