Sugimoto Art Museum

The Sugimoto Art Museum displayed over 5000 works in its main building and annex, showcasing Japanese paintings and artistic creations from Kenkichi Sugimoto.

Founded in 1987 through collaboration with Meitetsu Group, the museum served as a cultural institution until its closure in October 2021 after 34 years.

The museum maintained a traditional Japanese tea room called Sugi-an where visitors participated in tea ceremonies while admiring exhibited artworks.

Located near Mihama Ryokuen Station on the Meitetsu Chita New Line, the museum received 90,000 visitors annually during its early operational years.

The collection included designs by Kenkichi Sugimoto for Nagoya subway logos and travel magazine covers, representing his connection to local infrastructure.
