Jōmyō-ji, Buddhist temple in Arida, Japan
The Jōmyō-ji temple features a main hall with a prominent bronze roof and stands among traditional Japanese gardens and stone paths.
Established in 1188, the temple maintained strong connections with the Ashikaga clan, serving as their family temple throughout medieval Japan.
The temple grounds contain a collection of Buddhist statues, including a seated figure of Shaka Nyorai from the Nanboku-chō period.
Visitors can access the temple daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an entrance fee of 100 yen per person.
The temple grounds include a tea house called Kisen-an where guests can participate in ceremonies while viewing a rock garden.
