Hida Airpark

Hida Airpark is a small airfield nestled in the rural landscape of Gifu Prefecture, serving private aircraft and gliders. The runway cuts through agricultural land, giving the facility a distinctive countryside setting.

The airfield was founded in 1995 to serve as a regional aviation hub for small aircraft operations. Over time, it became known as a popular base for gliding activities in the area.

The November 2015 Hida Airpark Sky Holiday event gathered pilots and spectators for glider demonstrations and acrobatic flight performances.

The location is remote and best reached by private vehicle, as public transportation is limited in this rural area. Visitors should have good navigation skills or use GPS to locate the site.

What makes this place unusual is how aviation activity coexists with farming, as tomato fields run right alongside the runway. This mixing of operations is uncommon and gives the location a distinctive character.
