Hōdai-ji, Buddhist temple in Niiza, Japan.

The temple stands at the base of Mt. Ohira, featuring traditional Buddhist architecture and stone monuments recognized as archaeological properties by the Prefecture.

Founded by Ippen Shonin, Hōdai-ji underwent transformation between 1596 and 1614 when Kanchi Kokushi of Shiba Jozo Temple converted it to the Jodo sect.
