Higashihiroshima City Museum of Art

The Higashihiroshima City Museum of Art is an art museum in the Saijo district that focuses heavily on modern and contemporary prints, which make up the majority of its collection. The holdings span from traditional print techniques to newer artistic approaches across different periods.

The museum was founded in 1979 and opened to the public in June of that year. In 2020, it relocated to a new building near the Sake Brewery Street, a move that expanded its capacity to display its permanent collection.

The museum presents rotating exhibitions of work by Japanese artists alongside talks that help visitors understand contemporary art movements. You can experience how local and national artists shape the visual culture of the region.
