Takayama Castle, Medieval castle ruins in Toki, Japan

The Kanamori clan constructed this military fortification during the early 1600s as part of their regional defense network in the Gifu Prefecture.
The castle remains serve as a testament to Japanese military architecture, featuring stone walls and strategic placement techniques from the Edo period.
Visitors can reach the castle site through a 15-minute walk from JR Toki Station or a 10-minute drive from Toki-Minami-Tajimi Interchange.
The castle grounds contain excavated artifacts, including ceramic pieces that connect to the region's status as a major pottery production center.
