福島市信夫ヶ丘競技場, Sports stadium in Fukushima, Japan.
Fukushima Shinobugaoka Stadium features a natural grass field measuring 102 by 72 meters with seating for approximately 5,000 spectators on fixed seats plus grass viewing areas. The facility also includes training rooms and an indoor running track for athletes.
The stadium opened in August 1951 and has served as an important sporting venue for the region ever since. The track was renovated in 1978 when the facility hosted the National High School Sports Championship.
The stadium serves as the starting and finishing point for the East Japan Women's Ekiden, a traditional long-distance relay race held annually. Visitors can experience the energy of this important local sporting event and sense how much it matters to the region.
The facility can be reached by car in about 20 minutes from Fukushima Station or via Fukushima Kotsu bus service. Visitors should know that the stadium primarily hosts competitions and training activities and is not always open to the general public.
Since April 2023, the stadium operates under the name Seidensha WINDY Stadium through a naming rights agreement with a Fukushima-based company. This reflects the connection between the stadium and local business supporters who help fund regional sports facilities.
