This geological site in the M'Goun Geopark preserves dinosaur footprints embedded in rock formations, showing the paths these animals took millions of years ago. Multiple groups of tracks are spread across the area, allowing visitors to walk along the same ground these creatures once walked.
Scientists uncovered this site in the 1930s and recognized the value of the fossilized footprints preserved in the rocks. These tracks date back approximately 160 million years to when dinosaurs roamed through this mountainous region.
The location forms part of the M'Goun Geopark, integrating geological attractions with traditional Amazigh settlements and architectural elements.
The site is reachable by car via a paved road from Demnate and has visitor facilities on location. Bring sturdy shoes and water, as the rocky terrain is uneven and the sun exposure can be intense.
One notable aspect is the second group of tracks, which displays 12 consecutive footprints in clear sequence. This arrangement is remarkable because it captures the exact walking path of a single animal better than most preserved sites.
