Mechelińskie Łąki Nature Reserve

Mechelińskie Łąki is a protected wetland area near Puck Bay, consisting of flat, marshy terrain crossed by numerous drainage channels. The landscape comprises open meadows and water surfaces interspersed with a network of canals designed to manage water levels.

The reserve was officially designated in 2000 to protect the salt-influenced coastal wetlands of the Kashubian region. This protection came to safeguard fragile habitats from overuse and ensure their ecological health.

The reserve serves as a key stop for birdwatchers seeking to observe migratory water birds that pause here during their journeys. Visitors come to connect with the natural rhythms of wetland life and understand the birds that depend on these waters.
