Kamienica

Kamienica is a brick tenement building with three rear structures located in Szczecin, featuring decorative cornices and varied window designs on its symmetrical facade. Apartments are distributed across the front building and three rear structures around a central courtyard with a stone fountain, with Art Nouveau elements visible throughout.

The building was completed in 1902 designed by architect Frantz Libergesell for forwarding agent Albert Netz. Interior layouts underwent modifications between 1943 and 1945 due to changing needs.

The tenement shows how people lived in Szczecin in the early 1900s, with practical housing combined with artistic decorative elements influenced by Vienna Secession design. You can see these flowing lines and ornamental details on the facades and throughout the courtyard spaces.

The complex is best explored on foot, with the central courtyard serving as the main focal point accessible from all sides. Walking through the different levels and passages reveals how the spaces were organized for various residential functions.

Original wooden doors, stucco ceilings, and ceramic tiles remain inside, showing the craftsmanship from the early 1900s. These preserved elements give visitors a direct view into the building traditions and daily life of that era.
