The Botanical Garden of Galați is an 18-hectare facility with diverse plant collections, themed garden sections, greenhouses, and maintained walking paths throughout the grounds. The layout allows visitors to move through different areas at their own pace and explore the various garden zones.

The garden was founded in 1990 as Romania's newest botanical garden at that time. It developed from municipal land into a scientific and educational institution with growing recognition.

The garden serves as a place where visitors encounter plant species from around the world displayed in organized collections. Local students and research groups regularly use the space to study plants and participate in seed exchange partnerships with institutions elsewhere.

The garden is open to visitors Wednesday through Sunday with clearly marked paths throughout the grounds. The flat walking routes are easy to navigate and suitable for visitors of various mobility levels.

The garden maintains specialized climate monitoring systems to study how plants adapt to local environmental conditions. Its location near the Danube River creates unique weather patterns that make it a distinctive research location for scientists.
