Nepeytsevsky Arboretum, Natural monument and arboretum in Ordzhonikidzevsky District, Ufa, Russia.
The Nepeytsevsky Arboretum is a protected natural monument featuring forested areas with collections of trees and shrubs spread across Nepeytsevskaya Hill. The grounds run along multiple city streets and display a range of native and introduced plant species.
Osip Nepeytsev founded the arboretum in 1811 on his private estate, which later became the property of Ivan Basilev. Basilev, who directed public education in Orenburg Governorate, influenced how the collection developed over time.
The arboretum serves as a teaching resource where local schools conduct botanical and environmental lessons with their students. It remains a place where residents come to learn about plants and observe nature firsthand.
The arboretum is accessible through several entrances along Shota Rustaveli, Kubanskaya, Admiral Makarov, and Daut Yulty streets. These multiple entry points allow visitors to explore different sections of the grounds conveniently.
The collection holds more than 100 plant species, with a notable concentration of pyramidal poplars. These poplars served as the primary source for the pyramidal poplar trees now spread throughout Bashkortostan.
