Governor's House, Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin

The Governor's House sits within the Kremlin walls as a red brick structure holding art galleries on multiple floors. The rooms contain Russian and European paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects from the 1800s.

The house was built in 1841 as an official residence and later became a museum in 1896. The transition marked one of the first times a government building in the region was repurposed to preserve art.
