Фонтан «Дева Вуоксы»

The Vuoksa Maiden Fountain is a granite basin designed by Georges Winter that sits at the base of a slope in Lenin Park. The basin is all that remains of a larger fountain structure that once occupied this spot in the park.

The fountain was built in 1926 when Vyborg was under Finnish rule. Its creation shows how the city was investing in public art and architecture during that period.

The granite basin shows local stoneworking skill and represents how northern European and Russian building styles came together in Vyborg over time.

The basin is located near the Peter the Great monument, making it easy to find while walking through the park. The site is accessible on foot and sits along the main pathways of Lenin Park.

The granite basin is only a fragment of the original fountain structure that was created in the early 20th century. This remaining piece is valuable because it shows how important artistic design was to the park's development.
