Selahaddin Eyyubi Mosque, Modern mosque in Yenişehir, Turkey.
The Selahaddin Eyyubi Mosque is a modern place of worship in Yenişehir with spacious interior areas and four square minarets that rise alongside 56 octagonal domes crowning the roof. The prayer hall accommodates thousands of worshippers and is complemented by auxiliary buildings including a conference hall and extensive parking facilities.
Construction began under businessman İhsan Arslan's initiative and the mosque opened in April 2023 after six years of building work. It represents a modern addition to the city's religious landscape.
The mosque blends architectural elements from Mesopotamian, Seljuk, and Ottoman traditions, creating a space that weaves together different religious epochs. Visitors can observe how local basalt, white, and yellow stones bring these historical influences together in its current form.
The complex provides parking for several hundred vehicles, making it convenient to arrive by car. A conference hall within the building is also used for gatherings, and clear layout helps visitors navigate the large grounds easily.
The four entrance doors bear inscriptions with the names of Prophets Adam, Abraham, and Moses, while the main entrance carries Prophet Muhammad's name. These carvings connect the major figures of Islamic faith and create a meaningful welcome for visitors.
