Shaieva hora

Shaieva hora is a protected natural area covering about 24 hectares in the forest-steppe zone of central Ukraine. The site sits within the Dnipro River basin and displays the plant patterns typical of the Dnipro Upland region.

The area received official protected status in 2000 as part of regional conservation efforts in Cherkasy Oblast. This designation was an important step to maintain the ecological balance of the forest-steppe landscape.

Local people visit this place to observe nature and learn about the landscape of the Dnipro region. Many come here to see the plants that grow naturally in the forest-steppe zone and understand how they fit into the ecosystem.

The area is accessible year-round through regional roads that connect to main transportation routes of Cherkasy Oblast. Visitors should prepare for natural terrain conditions and wear suitable clothing for walking through the landscape.

The land holds specific plant communities that represent the natural vegetation of the Dnipro Upland region and are found in this form in few other places. These special plant groups make the area valuable for naturalists and botanists visiting the region.
