Park Peremohy, Protected landscape park in Cherkasy, Ukraine
Park Peremohy spans a forested area with multiple lakes and stepped ponds connected by walking paths throughout the grounds. The space includes a zoo section, a fairy tale glade with sculpted elements, and scattered playgrounds and seating areas for visitors.
The park was created in 1975 to mark the 30th anniversary of victory in World War II. Military monuments, including gun emplacements and a decommissioned aircraft, remain on the grounds as reminders of this purpose.
Families come to explore the Glade of Fairy Tales and observe animals at the zoo, making it a space where children learn about nature. The tree-lined paths and planted avenues form a backdrop for local recreation and gatherings.
The park is reached via local bus and trolleybus lines and lies along Smilianska Street in the city center. Wear comfortable shoes as the grounds are spacious and walking between sections is necessary to see all areas.
The grounds feature an unusual system of stepped water features that create distinct ecological zones across the park. This cascading pond network supports different plant life in each section, making the layout more complex than typical urban parks.
