Cherkasy Zoo, Protected wildlife area in Cherkasy, Ukraine.
The Cherkasy Zoo stretches across 4.37 hectares at 132 Smilyanska Street, featuring enclosures for three thousand animals from 282 different species.
Established in 1979 from a young naturalist station, the zoo started with 86 species and expanded into a significant conservation center in Central Ukraine.
The zoo functions as an educational center where visitors learn about wildlife preservation through exhibits of native Ukrainian and international animal species.
Located near the city center, the facility includes extensive walking paths, information stations, picnic zones, and child-focused recreational areas.
The zoo maintains a large terrarium section displaying numerous reptile and amphibian species while participating in breeding programs for threatened animals.
