Cherkasy Zoo is a protected wildlife facility in the city of Cherkasy that spans several hectares and houses more than three thousand animals. The facility is located on Smilyanska Street and displays representatives of nearly three hundred different species in various enclosures.
The facility was founded in 1979 and grew from a nature station for young naturalists into a modern zoo. Starting with just dozens of species, it developed into an important conservation center in Central Ukraine.
The zoo serves as a place where visitors can learn about animals and their habitats. The facility displays species from Ukraine and other continents to help people understand the natural world.
The zoo is located near the city center and is easy to reach on foot. The grounds have many walking paths, information points, and rest areas where visitors can spend time comfortably.
