Jolly Mill, Historic mill and park in Pierce City, Missouri, United States
Jolly Mill is a three-story grain mill standing on limestone foundations with original hand-hewn timber framing visible throughout. It sits along Capps Creek in Newton County and now functions as a park with recreational facilities.
Thomas Isbell and his son John built the structure in 1848 initially as a whiskey distillery. It later changed purpose and operated as a grain mill until operations stopped in 1973.
The place served as a vital stop for wagon trains and stagecoaches traveling through the region during the 1800s. The settlement that grew around it took the name Jollification from the importance of this location.
The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset with convenient access for all visitors. The site has facilities available for private events and gatherings.
The area is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation as a trout fishery, stocked with rainbow and brown trout throughout the stream. This makes the location a favored destination for anglers seeking to fish along the waters.
