Moose Hill Farm, Conservation land in Sharon, United States
Moose Hill Farm is a conservation area in Sharon spanning 347 acres of forest, open fields, and wetlands that support diverse plant and animal life. The property features hiking trails, parking facilities, and historic farm buildings that remain visible throughout the grounds.
The property operated as a dairy and sheep farm in the 1800s before becoming the estate of industrialist Henry P. Kendall, who acquired it during the 1940s. His ownership led to preservation efforts that eventually transformed the land into the conservation area it remains today.
The property functions as a nature refuge where visitors walk trails, observe wildlife, and engage directly with forest and field ecosystems. The paths reveal how different habitats support each other across the seasons.
The property features multiple marked trails for different skill levels and parking areas near the entrance. Dogs are welcome but must be controlled at all times, and winter sports like cross-country skiing are permitted on designated routes.
The site contains rare mature American Chestnut trees that have vanished from most other locations. From the highest point at about 450 feet in elevation, visitors can see the Boston skyline on clear days.
