Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary

Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary extends across 1,971 acres of varied terrain, including forests, wetlands, meadows, eskers, and kettle holes for diverse wildlife habitats.

Established in 1916 as the first Massachusetts Audubon Society property, the sanctuary initiated regional conservation efforts to protect natural landscapes and native species.

The sanctuary hosts seasonal maple syrup demonstrations, nature photography sessions, guided bird walks, and educational programs that connect visitors with environmental conservation.

Twenty-five miles of marked trails, including the Summit Trail and Bluff Trail, provide access to different ecosystems from dawn until dusk throughout the year.

Over 160 bird species inhabit the sanctuary's distinct ecological zones, making it a significant location for monitoring climate impacts on local wildlife populations.
